YCCA Kids record with Jennifer Warnes YCCA Students Jillian Gardner, Stephanie Mata, Scott Madonia, Tom Fleming, and Rich Klockowski found themselves in Utica’s famed Castle Recording Studio with two time Oscar winner Jennifer Warnes last month. Jennifer and the kids recorded two songs for release on the upcoming YCCA CD “Collaborations” “Sweet and Slow” and “Lights of Louisiana” were recorded with Cajun accordion king Jo El Sonnier and master clarinetist Doreen Ketchins. “These YCCA kids knocked my socks off” said Ms. Warnes. “They are so mature for their age, and so musical. I know the songs are going to be absolutely wonderful”

Former “Marvelettes” lead singer to record with YCCA students
Singer/songwriter Denise Morgan of “Marvelettes” fame will travel to Castle Recording Studio to record “Where Are They” an emotional tribute to missing children, with select students of the YCCA. People will remember Denise for her distinct voice on huge hits like “Please Mr. Postman”, “Message to Michael” and "Beechwood 4-5789. “Having a R&B legend like Denise Morgan coming to the Y is so incredible” said YCCA Music director Scott Rutledge. “This legendary singer was at the cutting edge of the Rhythm and Blues revolution in America in the 60’s and 70’s. She has millions of album sales to her credit, and now she has written a beautiful song that ties in with our mission perfectly.” The tune will appear on the upcoming YCCA CD “Collaborations”

Victory Records recording artists Path of Resistancevisited the Castle to track 14 new songs for their upcoming release. Path of Resistance consists of former members of Earth Crisis as well as current members of Freya.
Actor Richard Roundtree recently dropped by the Castle to record a character voice for the upcoming video game "Scarface".
Scarface is due for release for the XBox and PC in February of '06 and for the Playstation 2 later in the year.
